The AP-981 is an acid-resistant, waterproof magneto-electric rotation detector designed for non-contact RPM measurement across a wide speed range—from nearly zero to high-speed rotation. It comes with a pre-attached durable cable for dependable performance in harsh industrial environments..
The AP-981 leverages a magneto-electric design comprising a magnetic-resistive sensor, permanent magnet, and DC amplifier plus voltage regulation. It transforms magnetic flux changes—generated by gear tooth rotations—into clean square-wave signals. This makes it effective for capturing engine speed seamlessly, even in harsh conditions like chemical exposure.
With its integrated signal cable, it’s designed for quick and reliable connection to tachometer systems without additional wiring. The non-contact nature eliminates wear and enhances safety. Plus, its IPX7-rated protection ensures consistent operation even when exposed to moisture or corrosive vapors.
Non-Contact Gear Detection – Measures rotational motion by detecting magnetic flux from gear teeth without physical contact.
Ultra Wide Speed Range – Operates accurately from virtually 0 r/min up to 20,000 r/min when using a 60-tooth gear.
Certified Durability – Built to be acid-resistant and waterproof, suitable for corrosive or wet environments.
Rigid & Lightweight Build – Compact size ensures easy installation and mounting in tight spaces.
Extended Cable Included – Features a 1.9-meter acid-resistant cable integrated into the detector for flexibility in setup.
